What is Japanese incense?
The history of Japanese incense is ancient, and it is recorded that incense was used in ancient Japan in religious ceremonies and other religious activities. In particular, from the 8th to the 12th century, Japan had a period called the Kamakura period, during which Buddhism and Confucianism spread and incense became increasingly important.
Even as Japanese culture and religion changed, incense continued to play an important role. For example, incense is an important element in traditional Japanese arts such as tea ceremony, flower arrangement, kimono, and traditional Japanese rooms.
Today, Japanese incense preserves traditional techniques while incorporating new materials and scents and is used for a variety of purposes.
